30 Career Tips from a PM – #11 Use AI and automations to scale your process

Career Tips from a PM (11/30) – Use AI and automations to scale your process.

I know the use of AI gets a lot of flack in the job market. (Yet it doesn’t when you’re leveraging it for work. Double standard, I’d say.)

But in this day and age, you’d be only crippling yourself and your process if you don’t use AI and automations to scale your job hunt, your networking efforts, etc.

Hold up, note I said SCALE, not replace.

I’m sure we’ve all read/seen/heard the debates around how AI is being used for job searches. For those who haven’t, a TL;DR is that it’s generally frowned upon because it’s being used to replace things it shouldn’t (like coming up with interview answers mid-interview). You’ll get no disagreement from me there; AI absolutely should not replace your job process. Instead, you should be using it to scale.

Use AI and automations to:

– Find opportunities and their likely hiring managers
– Do initial research on what a company is and what they’re in the business of
– Practice and refine your answers to interview questions (before you’re actually in one!)
– Review and draft your resume, especially if the words you’re looking for escape you
– Do the heavy lifting in your process so you can focus on communicating YOUR value as a professional instead of the administrative side of it

The bottom line is that you should strongly consider what parts of your process can be simplified and scaled with AI and automations. To what non-negotiables does the bulk of your time and energy go for little to no return? A great rule of thumb is this: if it’s something repeatable that you can do while watching Netflix, then it’s probably something that you should leverage AI and automations to take off your plate.

Use AI and automations to scale your process.
