Take a break

It’s okay to take a break.

It’s okay to take a breather every now and then. It’s okay to take a nap. To rest. To take a vacation.

You help no one and only hurt yourself if you continue to push yourself for days, weeks, months on end without taking a moment for yourself. You may have gone into it with the best of intentions and motivations, but now you’re running on nothing more than fumes — literally unable to give it the 100% of you it deserves.

Burnout is real. It doesn’t matter if you’re leading a project, guiding teams, looking for a job, or even pursuing a hobby. If you keep a heavy foot on the gas pedal for too long, eventually your engine will flood and you’ll stall while everyone else races past you.

Take a break my friends, from whatever you’re doing, every now and then. This isn’t some tortoise and the hare proverb or “slow and steady wins the race” message. This is just a warning that no matter your pace, you need to make time for yourself to breathe, rest, and realign or else you’ll take yourself out of the race and guarantee your failure.
