Help is the Key to Success

You are probably your own worst enemy.

Your ego and pride are probably making your life harder than it needs to be.

I’ve worked with hundreds of product managers, engineers, project managers, and designers alike (some as a coach, many as a teammate) — each of them had something valuable to be proud of. And nearly every time I asked how they got to where they were, it almost always was the same answer: they had help.

Sure, any of them could have figured it out and gotten there on their own — but at what cost?

Time is the one resource we do not get back. Once a minute, hour, day, week, etc. is past, that’s it. Taking the long way from A to B isn’t always in our best interests.

And that’s why it’s important to have at least one mentor to turn to and rely on. Co-worker or not, free or paid, it doesn’t matter — the bottom line will always be about what gets you to your goals the quickest.

Asking for help is not something to be ashamed of. Every, and I mean every, successful person out there DID NOT get there 100% on their own. Someone out there held them accountable for something, taught them a new perspective, challenged their beliefs, or more.

So the next time you’re not sure what decision to make or are just plainly stuck, find the people who can give you the help you need.

You’ll save so much in the long run — time, money, opportunity, stress, etc.
